Kindergarten Program

Nicole – Approved Kindergarten Teacher

Nicole graduated with honours from QUT Kelvin Grove in 2010.  She has over 9 years experience working in long daycare settings.

Nicole’s aim as a Kindergarten teacher is to provide a safe and stimulating environment that nurtures each child’s sense of self-worth. The students in her class are supported in their learning and encouraged to have a voice within the program. The children are urged to problem-solve and seek answers to their questions.

Nicole and the Kindergarten team provide a physical environment that is safe, attractive, and conducive to learning and where children are intrinsically motivated through active exploration and play.

While the EYLF focuses on children from birth to five years, the Queensland kindergarten learning guideline aims to specifically enrich children’s learning in the Kindergarten Year. In Queensland, the Kindergarten Year is the year before the Preparatory Year of schooling.  Throughout the Kindergarten Year, children’s right to experience the joy of childhood is fundamental and learning is promoted through play, and emergent and planned learning experiences and interactions.
